MultiAir engines are designed from the development stage to further enhance the Alfa D.N.A. selector, the device that allows the personality of the Alfa Romeo MiTo to be adapted to the driver’s needs and different road conditions. The ‘Start&Stop’ system, making its debut combined with MultiAir engines for the first time on an Alfa Romeo, temporarily turns off the engine (when waiting at a traffic light, for example) and then restarts it to guarantee reduced fuel consumption.

With MultiAir, maximum Power is increased by between 10% and 35% thanks to the adoption of a power-orientated "virtual" cam profile.

From the outset, Alfa Romeo wanted the Alfa MiTo to be a car that would reflect and embody the passion, ideas and creativity of its fans and owners. That's why visitors to www.alfaromeo.com were asked to choose their favourite out of seven possible designs for the Alfa MiTo's logo.
